Divine Intervention

It has been “divine intervention,” as I see my association with the Narayan Gurukul. I was going through immense problems in my personal life almost 14 years ago and I was trawling the web looking for articles good for my soul and healing. I happened to come across a totally irreverent statement about 'avocados' by Guru Nitya Chaitanya Yati which led me to Scott Teitsworth's site and his introductory page on the Gita. The introduction was so hard-hitting and seemed to be addressing me and my problems personally that I just had to communicate with Scott. The rest as they say is history. I have been receiving Class Notes from Scott on the Upanishads, Tao Te Ching, Stream of Consciousness and am presently an active student of his Gita classes.

Through him I heard of Nancy Yeilding’s classes on Guru Nitya’s commentary on the Yoga Sutras and decided to take the study classes. Having done a TTC on Yoga, I was piqued and wanted more in depth knowledge of the Sutras.

The Gurus speak with a no nonsense, scientific and practical take on all the wisdom of the Holy books. The translations and wisdom are also extremely contemporary to our times. This is such a refreshing change from all the ritualistic, pedantic, abstruse emphasis that most other teachers seem to have.

Wishing you all a lovely centenary celebration of Guru Nitya’s life. May we keep learning from this timeless wisdom.
