Weekly Mindfulness & Meditation Groups
Are you looking to establish a regular meditation practice? Or maybe you already have an established practice but are looking for a group to practice with? In either case, one of these ongoing weekly drop-in sessions may be right for you.
We start each session with a short guided meditation followed by a deeper exploration of an aspect of mindfulness practice such as awareness of breath, body, senses, thoughts and feelings; or heart practices such as lovingkindness, gratitude, forgiveness, self-compassion and self-acceptance. Part of the session includes a group discussion on the theme of the week and an exploration of how we can use these practices to navigate our everyday life situations.
Saturdays 10:30 - 11:30 AM
These sessions are held at a home in Palo Alto. Please contact Gayathri directly for the address and other details.
Suggested contribution - $20.00 per person or $30 per couple per session (fee can be waived or reduced upon request)
I’ve read so many persuasive articles about the benefits of mindfulness, but needed the right environment in which to get started. Gayathri’s sessions are accessible, inclusive, and welcoming. Our group includes rookies (like me), and others whose practices are more established. Gayathri reaches everyone. At the close of class we disperse; each of us feeling calmer, clearer, and more centered.
We exercise physically and intellectually on an ongoing basis to develop our PQ (Physical Quotient), IQ and EQ. We need to enrich our soul by enhancing our MQ (Mindfulness Quotient). Thanks to Gayathri, I have had the opportunity to see what MQ can do to overall wellness of Mind, Body and Soul. Gayathri's exercises and methods are proven and I highly recommend to all ages! I am so fortunate to have developed a deeper friendship with her through these years.
Gayathri’s mindfulness sessions are an expression of her connectedness to the human experience. I am there, every session, to bask in the sense of unity she brings with every breath and every word.
“You show your humanity by how you see yourself not as apart from others but from your connection to others.” Desmond Tutu, Book of Joy
Gayathri embodies and exudes the teachings of mindfulness. She's made it her life path and I really feel the depth of her practice in how she transmits the information to anyone who is in her sessions. I feel very lucky to be part of the classes she teaches. She comes from a place of kindness and compassion with full awareness of her desire to share how mindfulness can impact our lives. Thank you for being an amazing resource for our community.
