Mindfulness in the Workplace
Mindfulness in the workplace encourages employees to be present, focused and aware, fostering a calmer and more productive work environment.
The practice of mindfulness has been shown to reduce stress, enhance concentration, and improve communication in the workplace. It helps create a positive work culture, boosting mental clarity, emotional resilience, creativity, and collaboration, ultimately leading to higher job satisfaction, well-being and overall performance.
The Mindfulness series by Gayathri was offered as 30-minute sessions over the course of 6 or so weeks at our company. In the context of our busy work schedules, the sessions were full (with a waiting list, a bit surprising!), consistently attended (a good sign of value) and provided a great overview of the beginnings of a mindfulness practice. Gayathri was authentic as a teacher and able to walk us through the framework (theory) with specific relatable examples and allow for brief practice at the end of each session.
I left the series with a desire for more and a small regular 10-minute practice that I attempt at each morning. In addition, I on occasion have been able to bring a mindfulness and presence to interactions with my colleagues. I would highly recommend mindfulness for others in all walks of life (personal, professionals, corporate) and specifically Gayathri as a guide to this practice.
